History

Ankara University Vocational School of Health was established in 1988.  Firstly, in 1988-89, 174 students started to train at the programmes of Nursing, Anesthesia, Medical Imaging Techniques, Medical Laboratory Techniques and Medical Documentation and Secretary.

In 1990 the programmmes of Orthopedic Prosthetics and Orthotics and Audiometry,
In 1992 the programme of  Radiotherapy and  In 2009 the programmes of Pharmacy Services and Medical Documentation and Secretary Distance Education were added to the ones mentioned above. Nursing Programme exists no longer in our school, since this programme was converted into a four years education. In 1993 Prosthetics-Orthotics Laboratory, in 1996 Audiometry Laboratory and in 1998 Computer Laboratory were founded. Thus the quality of education has been increased and also patients’ demands have been supplied by Prosthetics-Orthotics and Audiometry Laboratories.

In 2006 Vocational School of Health was moved to Ankara University Kecioren Campus. Thus Prosthetics and Orthotics and Audiometry Laboratories have just refounded in this campus.

The objective of the establishment of the school is to grow up productive and qualified health services staff whose aim at fulfilling the objectives of the health services on logical basis, and who supported the improvements in this area in relation with positive sciences.
